Creating a Custom Excel Report from the Search Contacts and Address tab

Modified on Fri, Oct 10 at 7:27 AM

In SchoolFi, the Search Result View can be combined with the Contact and Address tab to create custom reports that contain contact and / or email information.  To create a custom report, navigate to the Personnel >>  Search Contact and Address tab.

There are a number of search parameters that you can utilize on the Search Contacts and Address Tab.  In addition, you will select the contact/address information to display in the lower left hand corner of the search box (highlighted in yellow below).  In addition, you can save your search parameters utilizing the familiar Named Search button (highlighted in purple below).

To integrate the Search Result View with your Search Contact and Address navigate to the Search Result View tab, select the Search Result View that you want to intergrade with the  Search Contacts and Address tab and click on the Edit button.  For this example, we will intergrade the Birthday list Search result view.

Then in the Security section simply activate the Search Contacts and Address option and save your selection.

If you navigate back to the Search Result View tab, you will see a check box in the column indicating the Search Result View can be intergraded with the selected tab in SchoolFi.

Creating the Custom Excel Report

To create your Custom Excel Report that combines the Search Result View and the Search Contact and Address tab, navigate to the Search Contact and Address, either set your report parameters or choose a previously created Named Search and select the Search Result View to integrate:

When you hit the Search button, you will have a custom report that lists the staff members Address(es) along with their birthdate information from the Search Result View.  The Information highlighted in yellow is from the Search Contacts and Address tab, the information highlighted in Blue is from the Search Results View and the information highlighted in purple is from the Staff Contact database.
