Analyzing the Payroll Staff Screen

The Payroll Staff screen (Payroll→Payroll→Staff) lists all staff members who are included, and being paid, in the selected Payroll. The data on this screen is exportable to Excel by clicking the Excel icon at the top, right corner of the screen.


With each staff member are details of what they are being paid, as well as  'audit' icon buttons which display the calculations used to obtain each value:

  • Type - types can include Payroll (a regular base payroll), Void and Handcheck
  • Local ID - the employee's Staff ID#
  • Stub - in finalized payrolls a PDF icon of the employee's pay stub will appear here
  • Staff - the employee's first and last name
  • Has Retro - shows if this payroll contains retro pay
  • Refunds Only - shows if this employee is only receiving refunds in this pay period, and no other pay
  • Summer Pay - indicates if this payroll is a Summer Pay run
  • Pension - shows the pension group the employee is in
  • Pension Max Salary - if the employee's tier is entered, this column will show the max pension salary amount
  • Term - shows if the employee works a 10, 10.5, 11 or 12 month term
  • Age - the employee's age
  • Imputed Code
  • Balance - shows the employee's salary balance on their Payroll > Summary screen
  • Pays left - shows the number of pays left from the employee's Payroll > Summary screen
  • # Positions held - shows the number of positions the employee has on their Positions screen
  • Worked - Checked if employee had an active position tracking record on any day in the pay period. Also checked if any casuals exist for this staff member in the pay period. This value is used in the Month 1-3 boxes in the Unemployment, Disability, Work Force, and Family Leave section of the 927 Report.
  • Base - base salary for this pay period
  • Casuals - total of casuals paid for this pay period
  • Gross - base + casuals = gross
  • Deductions- sum of all deductions of every kind for this pay period
  • Net - The individual's net pay for this pay period;  what actually is paid to them after everything is taken out. (gross - deductions = net)
  • Audit - this link takes you to the employee's Audit screen
