How to manually run the Genesis Upgrade Script on Windows Server

Solution 1:

Using Command Prompt - In this example the Genesis directory is located on the E: drive. Replace the drive letter appropriately to meet your servers architecture. 

Procedure:

1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator (right click the CMD icon and "Run As Administrator")
2. Change to the root of the drive where the Genesis directory is located
3. Change Directory to the Genesis Upgrade Script location
4. Remove the current Genesis version.txt file
5. Execute the upgrade.bat script
6. Once complete, check that your Genesis website is back up. It may take up to 5 minutes for the site to refresh.

C:\Users\Administrator>E:

E:\>cd genesis\upgrade

E:\genesis\upgrade>rm version.txt

E:\genesis\upgrade>upgrade

Solution 2:

Using Task Scheduler

Procedure:

1. Open E:\genesis\upgrade folder and delete the version.txt file.
2. Open Task Scheduler, look for "Genesis Upgrade."
3. Right Click on "Genesis Upgrade" and click run
4. Once completed, check that your Genesis Website is back up. It may take up to 5 minutes for the site to refresh.
