The Payroll Dashboard screen (Payroll > Payroll > Payroll) is the primary work screen for all things Payroll. It is where the payroll is run and where you can review all settings for the payroll for accuracy.
Section 1 - This section shows the payroll number being run, in other words, the current payroll. In this example, it is payroll #12.1. It also shows the pay period end date as well as the quarter and school year in which the pay period will be posted. The wide, colored banner shows the status the payroll is in.
