Conference Form: Comment Box Question Type

A Comment Box is a text field that can be configured in two ways:

  • To have a specific number of rows and columns displayed.  This does not define how many characters can fit into the field, but it does specify the area that will be displayed.
  • As an HTML editor displaying editing controls menu across the top of the field.  The "HTML editor" setting overrides the columns & rows settings but also does not alter the actual size of the underlying text field.

Comment Box- A large comment box provided for longer answers to the question you type into the Question Box


                          



 





The "Cols" parameter specifies how many character widths the field will be (unless the "Use WYSIYWYG HTML Editor is selected) and the the "Rows" parameter specifies how many rows of characters will be displayed.  Together, the Cols and Rows parameters specify the size of the displayed text field, as long as the WYSIWYG editor is not used.

                          



If the "Use WYSIWYG HTML Editor" option is checked, the field is instead displayed as with an editor bar along the top and is a fixed size, determined by the width of the editor bar:
