If the district would like the system to identify vacant positions and include those positions in the Salary Projection Snapshot Data you will activate the option when you are updating the Salary Analysis Projection data.
Include Vacant Positions:
When this box is checked, all contractual positions that are vacant when the task is run will be included in the Salary Projection Snapshot Data.
If you are creating the Salary Projection Snapshot Data and including the employee’s names, the word “Vacant” will appear in place of an employee’s name and the projected salary will be blank. You will utilize the “Override Full Salary” column to manual budget for the projected salary of the vacant position.
How a Vacant Position is defined in SchoolFi for the Budget Build module:
A position is considered vacant and included in the budget build, if the option is activated, when a salary projection snapshot is taken if:
A. The position is vacant as of the time the salary projection snapshot is processed
OR
B. The position is filled as of the time the salary projection snapshot is processed AND the following two (2) options are active on the position tracking record
- Will Not Return Next Year
- Include in Budget Build if Not Returning
PLEASE NOTE: The end date for a CONTRACTUAL position tracking record is not a trigger for the Budget Build module to project a vacancy. If the District wants to budget for a CONTRACTUAL position that is currently filled (when the salary projection snapshot is processed) the Will Not Return Next Year box along with the Include in Budget Build if Not Returning box MUST be checked for the module to include a vacancy in the snapshot.
