Contractual Salary Projection Tab

Modified on Fri, Sep 27 at 6:17 AM

Any time after the Budget Build module has been set up, the District can utilize the Salary Projection tab to assist in projecting and budgeting for contractual salaries.  Go to Budget >>> Budget Build >>> Salary Projection tab.

This interface will assist in projecting and budgeting for contractual salaries.  It will only project a salary for the respective school year if the employee’s PTR is contractual and is linked to salary guide and the salary guide information is populated in the budget build school year

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:

  • The Salary Projection is ONLY for contractual earnings. All casual pay must be budgeted in the Budget Build module by the District or through the Non-contractual Projection tab in the Budget Build module.
  • Any position that is marked “will not return next year” or “non contractual salary” WILL NOT be included in the Salary Projection Snapshot Data.
  • If an employee’s salary is an “override” on their PTR, the salary projection amount will be $ 0.00 and this individual's projected salary must be manually entered as an override in the Salary Projection Snapshot Data or manually in the budget build screen(s).
  • The System DOES NOT budget for contractual salaries for teachers returning from leave. The District must review all of the details of all current leaves (returning staff member contractual salary and the current leave replacement contractual salary) and budget in the budget build module accordingly.
  • BEFORE utilizing the Salary Projection Snapshot Data feature, the District should review the Salary Guides for the budget build year for completeness and accuracy.

How to utilize the tab:

To import the contractual salary projections, you will click on the “Update Salary Projection Analysis Snapshot” button.  You can review the options and after making you selection(s) click on the “update” button to import the projections.  You will have 2 options:

  1. Include Vacant Positions:  The system can include current vacant positions.  Please review the supplementary instructions for this option.
  2. Show Positions instead of staff: This option will control if the employees name is pulled into your budget worksheets or the Position Description.

The system will utilize the charge to account included on the employee’s PTR or the default charge for the position of the employee when creating the Salary Projection Snapshot Data.  Please review the supplementary instructions for this option.

After the information is imported into the snapshot, you can utilize the search criteria at the top of the tab to assist you in reviewing the contractual salary projections.  You will have the option to enter a salary projection override.  If an override is entered, the override will be posted to the budget worksheets when the Projection Details Records are imported into a projection scenario.  We recommend the district “lock” any overrides so that the override is not deleted when the date in imported / rolled back for the scenario.

Importing the Projection Details to the current Scenario

Once the analysis is complete and the District wants to post the Salary Projection Snapshot Data (along with any overrides) you can select the scenario and click the import button.  When the data is imported, you have one option to use the Job Description instead of the position description for displaying information in the budget worksheet.

Rollback Projection Details for the current Scenario

You will always have the option to remove all of the Salary Projection Snapshot Data that was imported into a scenario by clicking the rollback button.  This an be done at any time and rolling back the snapshot data will NOT remove any manually entered information into the salary accounts.  IT will only remove the information that the system posted as part of importing the projection detail records.
