Header, Visibility and Reporting Areas of the Workflow

The  top three areas of the Workflow includes fields covering:

  • "Demographics" for the Workflow:  its name, usage, what kind of "Evaluation Event" it describes. whether its enabled or not, what type of staff members it is designed for.

  • Usage information:  how it will be plugged into staff member's "Evaluation Year".  Is it a summative?  An observation?  Are the "Evaluation Events" it describes announced or unannounced?

  • Display information:  When should it be shown

Header:  Workflow "Demographics" and Usage

The section specifies what type of "Evaluation Event" the Workflow is intended to control, what category of staff member it is for, and whether it is enabled or not:

  • The top line contains the name of the workflow, the 'sequence number' for its positioning in the list of Workflows, whether it is enabled or not and wat Evaluation Category of staff it is for:

  • The second line specifies the "type" of Event.  Your district can update the list of Workflow types and color coding:

  • The right side of the second line contains additional specifiers for how this Workflow will be used:

The default is to select none of the radio button options - and that is fine.   The "Observation" option simply indicates the Workflow controls an observation rather than one of:

    • A NJ "Admin Leadership" evaluation.

    • A Summative meeting vs a "regular" Observation.

    • A Professional Development Plan or Corrective Action Plan meeting.

  • The "Tag" field is for advanced forms of Final Practice score calculation.   You do not need to worry about this field unless a Genesis staff member indicates it is needed for your district's Final Practice score:

  • Exclude Score from the Final (NJ SMART) Practice Score - This checkbox specifies that any score from this "Evaluation Event" will NOT be used in the calculation of the staff member's final NJ SMART Practice Scores.

This allows you to do "additional" evaluations for things like coaching, running clubs, etc., that are not part of a staff member's "day job".

Rubric Operation and Control Parameters

Not every Workflow describes an "observation" or "evaluation" that includes scoring (or simply choosing answers on) a Rubric, however those that do use the Rubric in various ways and include different features.  This set of options describes, operationally, what features of "scoring the Rubric" should be included/excluded/enabled/disabled.
