Specifying and Configuring the Rubrics

Rubric Section of the Workflow

The rubric to use for the Observation/Main Event is specified and configured in the "Rubric" section of the Modify Workflow screen.

Select the Rubric

The first field at the top of the section is where the rubric is selected:

To go to the actual Rubric editing screens, click the   label once the rubric has been selected.

Once the rubric has been selected, its Page Groups are displayed in the "Page Groups" area below:

The appearance of this area is determined exclusively by the rubric being displayed.  The number of Page Groups is controlled exclusively by the Rubric itself.

Each Page Group of the rubric receives a row:

To configure the use of the rubric for this current workflow you first select which Page Groups will be displayed for Evaluation Events/Observations controlled by this Workflow:

  • Check the "Include" checkboxes for each Page Group you want to include.

  • Uncheck the "include" checkboxes for Page Groups that are to be excluded.

  • If the rubric is to be scored, specify the percentage each included Page Group will contribute to the score.

  • The percentages MUSt add up to 100%.

  • If you desire, select a Color Scale for coloring the scores of the Page Group - note that each Page Group can have its own scale (if so desired).

The "Integration" area specifies whether the Observation/Meeting controlled by this Workflow should incorporate text and scores from prior Observations during the year.

The "Complimentary Scores can be toggled on and off" parameter allows each individual Observer to determine whether or not to show how the staff member was scored earlier in the school year.  If the Methodology being used only scores staff members once per year, this option will have no real effect.

The Rubric for the Final Practice Score Section is only used for Summative Observations/Meetings when a final practice score must be calculated.  If this Workflow is not for a Summative, leave this area as "(Not Used)":
