Salary Projection Tab: Reviewing Salary Guides in the Budget Build Year

If the district would like the system to project contractual salaries for the budget build year, the District MUST have salary guides in SchoolFi for the budget build year.  The following procedures MUST be performed for each and every salary guide.  Go to the Personnel >>> Staff >>> Salary Guides tab and select the current year in yellow.  



Step "A"
If there is nothen click the box next to the guide and click on “Copy Checked Guides to” and follow the on screen instructions to copy the guide to the following year.  You may want to review the Rollover Settings BEFORE you create the next year salary guide.  


If there is athe Guide exists in the following year.


 


Step "B"

Click on the Edit button to review the Salary Guide Rollover Properties


  1. Enter the date for the “Do not move up one step in Salary Guide if contractual start date (from the DEMOGRAPHICS tab) after” field.
  2. Enter the date for the “Do not move up one step in Salary Guide if hired after” (Date of Hire from the DEMOGRAPHICS tab) field.
  3. Enter the date for the “Do not move up one step in Salary Guide if position tracking start date after ” (Position Start Date from each individual's Position Tracking Record Date of Hire tab) field.
  4. Enter the Number of steps that each person will move up for the projection.


You should ONLY complete one (1) of the date fields 

 




Verifying Step Movement from 2024-25 to 2025-26


After you have set all the Rollover Rules (Step B) you can review & verify the Internal Step movement from the current year to the following year.  For the example below, the staff is moving up one step - Internal Step 1 will move up to Internal Step 2 based on the Contractual Start Date and the Date of Hire.

 

        

 

You can customize the Internal Step movement by entering the Override Number of Steps to Advance when rolling over to next school year.  If your staff is moving up more than one step, see this example below.  You will enter the number of Internal Steps that the employee will move upon rollover.   For the example below, Internal Step 1 in the current year is going to Internal Step 4 in the following year.   The proper setting will be as follows:   


       


 

This procedure MUST be completed for each and every salary guide.
