Transmitting a Test File

Modified on Mon, Feb 27, 2023 at 6:59 PM

All districts, once receiving a TCC code to transmit their own files need to run one transmission test.  Once this test is completed, the ACA Help desk will switch you over to Production.  The switch over can take up to 24 hour to complete.

                                                                             OR

If you are rejected and the rejection file looks like tone before, there is no record of you having successfully completer the transmission test. Follow the instruction below to complete the transmission test

Below are the steps needed to produce this test file

Configure your transmission page to create a test file.  It will use the data from the setup page but the actual data will not be your employees, Rather the information reflects the rules for the test.

Use the link at the bottom of this screen to finish creating and transmitting the test file. Remember to go to the Testing Link and not the Production one.

Once you receive a status of accepted, they must call the IRS Help Desk with their acknowledgement number and the status.

They will verify and then switch to from Test to Production.   (I suggest they call at 7:30 in the AM almost no wait, otherwise 1-2 hours)

When calling in. you need to say “Transmission test”. Accepted with error is a non-issue.  We’re not testing the data, were testing the process. The fact that you successfully transmitted the file and were able to get a status back is really all that needs to happen.
