Controlling Availability of Message Event Types for District Users
No Messages are available to users by default. Access to all messages is controlled on the Setup→SF Messaging→Events screen. Each Event has to have its security configured in order to be available to users (all Events are installed in the system, configuring security enables them for actual use).
Configuring an Event Type
To configure an Event, go to the Setup→SF Messaging→Events screen, locate the Event you wish to configure, and click the button corresponding to it. This brings up the configuration screen for the Event:
Security for a Message Type
All Message Event Types have the same security options. These control whether the message type is available or not available and to which users:
Options
- Available to all users checkbox - If this checkbox is checked, all internal SchoolFi users can see and subscribe to this Message Event Type.
- Automatically subscribe users that can access it checkbox - If this checkbox is checked, users that eligible to receive a message of this type are automatically subscribed to it so that they can receive the message.
- and receive email notifications checkbox - If this checkbox is checked, users are offered the ability to receive regular email messages in addition to SchoolFi Messages.
- List of specific Employee Portal Roles - This allows you to add Employee Portal Roles. Portal users assigned any of those Roles can subscribe to the Message type.
