Professional Development Plan Overview

SchoolFi is designed to enable every staff member to create a Professional Development Plan for each school year.


The Professional Development Plan feature set is part of the Schoolfi Evaluation product.


The templates used to create the plans can be adjusted by staff member's Evaluation Category.


Plans for a school year are entered by staff members then signed and reviewed by up to two reviewers:  the staff member's Supervisor and Principal.

 

Professional Development Plan Setup

Selection of the template to you and other customizations are done by Evaluation Category and take place on the Evaluations > Setup  > PDP > List of Plan Settings screen, shown here:

 

PDP Plan Output Formats

Output - printable - versions of the PDP Plans are created by using PDF Forms.  There is a special PDF Form usage category of "Professional Development Plan" for these.


Built-In Output Formats

SchoolFi is pre-loaded with three built-in Professional Development Plan PDF Forms:


These are:

  • NJ PDP for Teachers - New Jersey's preferred PDP template for teachers.
  • NJ PDP for Principals - New Jersey's preferred PDP template for principals.
  • NJ PDP for Teachers (slim) - A 'skinny' version of the New Jersey preferred PDP template for teachers.

These can be found on the Setup > PDF Forms screen by setting the "Usage" drop down to "Professional Development Plan".

 

PDP Plan "Cycle"

A staff member can create their PDP Plan at any time.   The yearly cycle is:

  • Staff member creates the plan. 
    • This can be done at any time after the plan is configured for the year.  There is no special "open" period.
    • Staff members sign & submits the plan.
  • Plan is reviewed by up to two people: 
    • Supervisor
    • Principal
    • Either or both can be configured for an Evaluation Category
  • Optionally, the staff member can add items for a "Mid-Year Review." 
    • These items are added to (a) Mid-Year Review tab.
    • Optionally, staff members signs and submits the review.
    • This can be done at any time after the plan itself is signed and submitted.
  • If the mid-year review is submitted, it can be reviewed again by up to two people: 
    • Supervisor
