Navigating to Approve Professional Development Plans

To approve a Professional Development Plan on the Employee Portal, go to Evaluations > Approve PDP.

You can search by various different options, you can layer these as well as long as there are staff that meet ALL of the criteria that you are searching against.

Some Examples: Name, Location, Eval. Category, Tenure Status, Department, Plan Status, Plans assigned to specific admins, etc.

There is also an option of Staff With No Plans - this will indicate any staff members based on your search criteria that have not started a plan yet in the school year you are searching under.

Approval Process

Once you have located the staff member(s) you need to approve, you will see one line per staff member per plan. Each plan will have a Plan Section (initial submission),Interim Review (if your district does this), and a Summative Review section.

The first step would be to assign yourself to the plans you are responsible for, remember only staff who have started a plan, will appear on this list. You will check off box or boxes to the left of the staff members name.

Next you will either select Assign Supervisor to Checked or Assign Principal to Checked - depending on which category you fall under. (Generally only building Principals will be under the Principal option, all other admins ex. AP, VP, Supervisors, Directors, Superintendent, etc. will be under the Supervisor option.)

If your name is not appearing on either list, please reach out to your district's system admin, they will be able to add you to the appropriate list.

When you click on the Assign option it will give you a pop up, where you will choose your name from the drop down and then click Assign. This will then open up the signing functionality for you IF the staff member has signed and submitted their plan for approval.

To View the PDP, you will click on the PDF icon under the Actions column, this will provide you with a PDF to review and see what the staff member has submitted.

If the plan looks to be good, you will click on the Sign button and then enter your Signature Pin which will sign off and approve the PDP in question.

Sending Back a PDP

If the PDP does not seem to meet the standard of the district, you can check off one or multiple plans. From there you will click Unsign/Unsubmit Checked Plans

This will open up a pop up window that allows you to check off which part of the plan is being unsigned. It is important to select one, so the system know which set of signatures to remove. Then you can enter an additional message in the email of the reason why you are sending it back to the staff member. You can send a copy of the email to yourself, and if the plan has two approvers, you can send it to the other as well.
