Evaluation Information System (EIS State Reporting) Managing mSGP

Evaluation Information System (EIS State Reporting) - based on the changes that state has made, they no longer accept the submission report to fill in the value of SGP for the summative rating if a staff member is a mSGP individual.

In the past the Evaluation Submission to AchieveNJ accepted the value, and with changes over to the EIS system, the state has changed how a staff members calculations should be done.

Based on the New Jersey Department of Education Evaluation Information System (EIS) User Manual on page 13 it breaks down that all teachers mSGP or not, should be submitted to the state with the following scoring method:

Additionally it states the following for the mSGP individuals:

Adjusting your staff for the Staff Evaluation Submission

In Staff Management this can easily be adjusted in mass, you will need to go through the following steps:

Step 1: Log into Staff Management and click on Evaluations > Setup > NJSMART Scoring and then toggle back to the previous year (if your system has been rolled over already into the current school year)

Step 2: You will want to adjust the weights for the score type of SGP Teacher to the following breakdown of:
                        Practice Score: 85%

                        SGO Score: 15%

                        SGP Score 0%

Step 3: Click save, and this will update the weights in the background of the system.

Step 4: (Optional) You can either force run the Observation and Evaluation Maintenance Task which will adjust all of your mSGP staff members to the appropriate scoring plan, or you can wait for the system to run the task automatically later that night. MAKE SURE YOU TURN ON THE OPTION TO RUN IT AGAINST THE PREVIOUS YEAR, IF YOUR SYSTEM IS ROLLED OVER.

After the task is ran, the scores will have been adjusted, and you can run your evaluation submission report, without the SGP value being populated for those staff members. They should receive summative ratings, as long as their evaluations and SGOs have been completed.

Receiving Certified Scores Back From the State (Fall)

You will need to repeat the steps above, but this time filling in the SGP to be the approved weight, and adjusting back the Practice Score and the SGO Score as well to the pre-defined values by the state.

You can again force run or wait until the task runs to update all of the mSGP teachers scores for the previous school year, and then proceed with importing your certified scores from the state.
